We are have published a list of approximately 85 bookstores located throughout Southeast Michigan and Southern Ontario, along with a corresponding interactive map of these stores.
We are encouraging our FRIENDS, our LOCAL Attendees, and especially, our OUT-OF-TOWN Attendees and Vendors to spend a portion of their Saturday patronizing the fine book-related establishments in the region.
SELF-led, SELF-paced, and SELF-DRIVING!
- There is no specific organized start or end location.
- There is no specific itinerary or sequence to follow, beyond the Opening / Closing hours of each individual store.
- You can choose to visit as many or as few establishments as you’d like!
- Detroit Festival of Books will not be providing any transportation to/from individual stores.

- PLAN your route before you start.
- Have fun, take lots of SELFIES, and post ’em on the socials with #DBF2025BookstoreTour.
- UPLOAD your selfies and LET US KNOW how much fun you had!
Store Hours May Vary
Not every store is open throughout the duration of this all-day event. Only a small portion of the stores open at 7 AM (coffee shops, etc.), and only a few are open as late as 11pm.
While we will make every effort to provide accurate information on the list of books, we cannot be held responsible for inaccurate store hours.
Please confirm hours and/or location with the individual store before making an long or arduous trek.
