Dream On!: Supporting and Graduating African American Girls and Women in STEM

The book, Dream On! is about African American girls and women continuing to pursue their dreams of obtaining degrees in STEM fields despite obstacles. This book also explains the development of a love for science and math among African American girls through early exposure and engagement in K–12 settings. However, in college, they face challenges within the classroom such as teaching styles that fail to match their learning styles. Despite the push out process in STEM majors, African American women in health science, social science, and STEM majors fulfill their dreams of completing college. The book is a must read for students who want to pursue STEM fields and medical degrees, families, educators, administrators, and policymakers.
