**About the Author**

Jennifer Stewart is an author, educator, and advocate for Deaf culture and American Sign Language (ASL). She wrote *Deaf, like David* in honor of her father, David, whose life, strength, and experiences as a Deaf individual inspired this heartfelt story. Through his example, Jennifer learned the importance of embracing differences, celebrating identity, and ensuring that every child feels seen, valued, and included.

As an educator, Jennifer is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that promote empathy, inclusion, and a greater understanding of the Deaf community. She believes children’s books have the power to spark important conversations and help young readers appreciate the many ways people communicate.

Jennifer is also the author of two additional books and continues to write stories and educational resources that inspire, educate, and encourage readers of all ages. Through her work, she hopes to honor her father’s legacy while helping build a more inclusive world for future generations.
