Detroit Vinylfest and Detroit Bookfest events require a lot of volunteer help to pull off. Please JOIN US to help plan, produce, and execute these events!
Detroit Festival of Books (aka: Detroit Bookfest Charitable Organization) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We meet as a planning group monthly, and we work independently year round to make these events happen.
Day-of-Event Volunteer Needs
We need several in-person volunteers to help at the event in the following roles on the day of the event.
- Welcome Table / Usher / Greeter
- Selling Merchandise
- Stuffing Welcome Bags / Flyers
- Event Set-Up (evening & early morning before the event)
- Event Tear-Down (late evening, after public event ends)
- General Event Volunteers
Planning Volunteer Needs:
We are seeking dedicated, long-term volunteers for the following roles:
- Grants Team (research available grants, writing/submit applications, process tracking )
- Sponsorship Team (review & update sponsorship materials, recruit sponsors)
- Technical / Communications (timely email responses, vendor communication management)
- Logistics Coordinator (venue layout; procuring auxiliary venues, business services, etc.)
- General Planning & Administration
